Gracious Words

My Peace

Allen Wang

“P eace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
With the pandemic going on around us, we may feel scared, anxious, or even helpless. Not because we are afraid, but because we cannot find true peace within ourselves.

AllenEver since the pandemic started, many of us were unprepared on how to protect ourselves from the virus. We saw the deaths toll rising and we didn’t even have the vaccine yet to help those who were infected. Our country is in turmoil. With our leaders getting infected, we had no idea how the future would turn out for America or even the world.

In the midst of all the chaos, all we can do is pray. Prayer will make us strong. Prayer will give us hope. Prayer will bring us closer to God’s heart and remind us that no matter what happens in this world, He’ll always be with us until the end of time. Prayer reassures us that true peace is found in our heavenly Father God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit.

As John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives . . .“ Worldly peace is temporary, but the Heavenly peace is eternal. Rest assured that this is the word from God, the very word that breathes life in us. Why should we be afraid? Isn’t God greater than the virus?

I pray and hope that this little article can encourage those who live in fear and anxiety. Let us fight a good fight despite our circumstances and continue to receive the true peace that our heavenly Father gives.

Peace, we pray!
