Who I Am

Anna Lum

Inspired by four unnamed women in the Bible*

I’m a student. I’m a teacher.
I’m single. I’m married.
I’m divorced. I’m widowed.
I’m a professional. I’m a worker. I’m unemployed. I’m retired.
I’m a parent. I’m a grandparent. I’m a child. I’m a grandchild.
I’m a sibling. I’m a relative.
I am…

I was Judged, Hurting, Insignificant, and Shamed.
And then I met Jesus.

He is the Forgiver of all sins,
The One who understands,
Casting no condemnation,
The Healer of all wounds.

I am precious in His eyes,
Given fresh eyes and ears
To see and hear the Truth,
Given fresh eyes and ears,Anna Lum
Blind and deaf to untruth.

I now know who I am.
On a journey to discover,
Given a new identify,
Someone to walk with
Who shows me the way.

He is the Sacrificial Lamb.
He is the Healer.
He is the Bread of Life.
He is the Messiah.
He is the King.
He is the Living Water.

He condemns not, but restores.
He shames not, but forgives.
He inflicts no wounds, but heals.
He casts me not away,
Gives me significance and safety.

Because of who He is,
I know who I am.

I am a sinner saved by grace.
I am forgiven, though I sin.
I am healed, though I hurt.
I am a thirst-quenched soul.
I am a royal priesthood.
I am a member of His Body.

I have a new name
Recorded in the book.
I have a new home
He’s preparing for me.

Therefore, I can just BE.
For I am FREE.
