I am from Anhui, China. In 2010, I came to the US as a student. I did not believe in God. All I had learned before was atheism and I didn’t understand Christianity. I thought the Bible stories were just like Chinese fairy tales bearing no credibility, and, of course, I was not convinced that Jesus was Christ the Lord.

After I came to America, I met many passionate ministers and student believers. They asked me to go to church. At first I just felt it would not be nice to reject them, and also I wanted to make more friends. However after listening to sermons and studying the Bible, I was very amazed at the piercing truth and insight in God’s Word. I had undergone many years of education, but no one could speak the truth about history and human life with such wisdom. I realized then how small man is before God. All I could do was to worship God and to act according to His will. Therefore, during the church retreat in 2011, with the help of a fellowship leader, I decided to believe in the Lord Jesus.

I can deeply feel God’s love for me, as well as the joy and peace He has brought to my life. Looking back, God has never asked me to do work for Him. I just have to truly believe in Him, accept Him, trust Him and be willing to change myself in order to obey His will. I am only a baby in the spiritual sense. May God guide me to grow according to His plan, continuously into the stature of Jesus Christ.

I have seen other seekers take a long time to believe in the Lord, but for me, it was easy to cross this threshold. That is really God’s grace and mercy to me. Before I believed in the Lord, I was very stubborn and proud. My perspective towards others and life was often self-centered. I was also easily bothered by small things and became worried. I have changed a lot after believing in Jesus. I realized how tiny I am before God. I am learning to be humble and obedient to God and patient and accepting of others. I realize that God is in charge of all things. He has plans for our lives so I can entrust everything to Him. I believe that God will watch over me.

Dear God, thank you for cleansing my sins with your precious blood, and thank you for choosing me to be your child. From now on I’ll follow you all my life. I will tell people about you according to your command of the Great Commission, and I will live a life in accordance with your grace.
