My name is Shirley Gee. My first encounter with the Lord is when I was 10. I was in Hong Kong. My friend took me to church and I liked it. From then on, I decided that Jesus is my Savior. I did not go to church after I immigrated to America because of the changes in my daily routines. About 40 years ago, I went to see my sick uncle in Reno. That was in the middle of June, yet on the return journey, the snow came down unexpectedly. The car skid and made a few spins. I cried out, “Lord, help me! Help me!” and the car stopped. Amazingly there was no cars behind us. My husband managed to drive to the roadside and waited for a large truck to come by, and we followed it home safely. That is how God saved us.

Then, 10 years ago, after I went to school in the morning, some good friends came to visit. They wanted to play mahjong. By 5 in the afternoon, I asked them to stay for dinner and when to cook. During dinner, one of them said to me, “Shirley, your smiles do not look right today. Bring some ginger and I will give you a massage.” After a while, she told me to ask my daughter to take me to the hospital immediately. We went at 7 pm and waited until 11 pm before the doctor saw me. He admitted me to the hospital, but there was no room available until 4 am. I felt alright the first two days. On the third day, I was not able to move when I woke up. I prayed for God to give me strength, wisdom, and confidence. Since then I worked hard, and thanks to my Lord Jesus, I can now walk a little.

I want to be baptized today to testify that I have accepted Jesus as my Savior. He forgave my sins. I am now God’s child. I want to be part of this church so I can follow Jesus always.
