Journey from Tears to Joy

Tyler Seamster

Hello, my name is Tyler Seamster, and I am a senior who Tyler Seamster-DSL_2270attends Laguna Creek High School. I did not grow up in a Christian household and I did not have a great childhood. I always had a curiosity for God but it was not until I met and got to know Esther Chan that I felt comfortable enough to go to church. My first day going to Christian Youth Fellowship was April 22, 2016, and I felt so excited and joyful that night! There, I met Reba and Ben and soon enough many others. Esther and Reba shared a lot in the next week, and I accepted Christ as my personal savior on April 27, 2016. I took the sinner‘s prayer with Reba over Skype.

My life before becoming a Christian was tragic and sorrowful. In sixth grade, I was bullied, betrayed, and discouraged a lot, even by part of my own family. I didn’t have many friends who I could open up to about these things. It got so drastic to the point of me wanting to commit suicide multiple times. I struggled with these feelings of hopelessness all the way up to my sophomore year which is the year I accepted Christ into my life.

Through these trials, despite being before I formed my relationship with Christ, I was able understand how perfect God’s plan was and see that He uses trials to produce growth. Just thinking about how He plans things out so perfectly to grow us, whether we can see it or not, always puts me in awe of His greatness.

Ever since I have been saved, my life has been a lot better in many ways such as not wanting to commit suicide, being surrounded by a positive community every week and having a better mood overall. The blessings He grants are uncountable! Being a child of God and serving Him has become my greatest joy and I’m so grateful that I have been saved.
